#dnd #dmtip Dont be angry at Power Gamers. Embrace them! Many times these folks will drive the story forward in expected ways as they chase that next ounce of power. Bait them with tastes of glory, and watch them run forward after it.

Problem is, in my experience, sans the people at my current table, every power gamer has not cared one inch about the story or world.
It's frustrating for everyone when their necessary-for-build magic item doesn't show up. https://t.co/xMnpoD99Op

I am a power gamer. I also care quite a bit about story.
Us story driven min maxers do exist. This! There is nothing wrong with wanting to play the game for the maximum effectiveness and efficiency! However, such a play style also needs to be aware to not let that pursuit ruins others’ good time, nor impose control on how they wish to build/play their character. 🙂

Exactly! It is a delicate balance, and one that is more often than not done poorly if no one speaks up. I’ve played with MANY power gamers who are good friend in all my years gaming, and had a great time. Just being up front when they begin to infringe can help awareness.
