well, i guess i get that, love you books, but Mercer has spoiled me in the watching people DM games area It's hard for me to wrap my head around "YOU may be having fun and your PLAYERS may be having a blast but *I* am not entertained and so therefore you are not as good a DM as I thought."
Being a good DM is not about entertaining an audience.

Thisthisthis. There are many, many times where our game could be tailored toward an audience’s enjoyment. However, the core tenant for us has always been to put our enjoyment of the game over that. It may not be optimal as “entertainment”, but that’s fine. Our fun is paramount.

And even so, I’m a decent DM I believe, but there are many others out there who are better at facets of the game than I am. I just happen to have a skill set and play style that lends to a steaming format well. It doesn’t make me a better DM than others.
