I think most current D&D players started with 5E and so don't have robust language for talking about all the different styles of play D&D has been used for.
Like…are folks aware that there's a difference between an adventure with a dungeon, and a Dungeon Crawl?

TBH I started play with Ad&D (but mostly 3E) and I don’t think I’ve ever done a traditional dungeon crawl. I wonder when the play style changed – or maybe I’d read too much Dragonlance? Against The Cult of the Reptile God marks the beginning of the shift away from Dungeon Crawls and toward adventures with stories that happen to feature a dungeon.
But even then, the dungeon in AtCotRG is a Dungeon Crawl, because the game was a Dungeon Crawling game.

Are you meticulously tracking ammunition and food rations? Is running out of torches and therefore light an important part of the game?
