Symbiotic Entity, maybe Gathered Whispers or Living Shadow.

Second Skin, but add the ability to use one of the other features from Alter Self.

You can also take one of the symbiotic items from Eberron Rising from the Last War and make it a sentient item.

Or you could use Symbiotic Entity and Dhampir..makes a great Venom-like character. Or SE and plasmoid from the current UA

Symbiote as in Venom? I would start by making it intelligent with it’s own agenda. Attunement, but both ways. Physical stat enhancements. After that, it’s what style of powers you want it to have. Yup! I don't want to tie it to a subclass or anything because I want it to be available to basically anyone. I haven't decided if it's just 1 or if it'll become a more widespread thing

Venom started off as the only one. Then it spawned. But yeah. Vuln to Fire. Resist to physical, etc. Give it whatever fun stuff you want.
