What’s your take on scarred/dented and otherwise disfigured Warforged considering “…a warforged heals all damage at the end of a long rest. In my mind, this literally involves the body being mystically restored to “factory standard.” “? It's a question of rules vs story. By the rules, a warforged heals all damage after taking a long rest. You COULD see this as mystical regeneration. Personally, I envision a "resting" warforged as performing minor physical repairs: hammering out dents, mending torn ligaments.

So I'm fine with the idea of battle-scarred, dented, or mismatched warforged. I don't think mystical restoration to pristine condition every rest is a compelling story.
