Also, I realize that Aladdin is a little wack from a cultural standpoint (thanks Antoine Galland), but Persian rugs are so gorgeous that they are quite literally magical. I support flying carpets, but it is my quest to reclaim them by making them look like beautiful Persian rugs. Just added flying carpets (which OF COURSE look like Persian rugs) to an upcoming campaign location. 😀

Folks who can afford a flying carpet use it to navigate OVER the crowds at the bazaar. Maybe there’s a carpet landing pad on the roof of some buildings….

Many handmade rugs contain an intentional mistake, usually something small like a bit of misplaced pattern or thread color. It's typically very hard to spot!
Authentic Persian rugs are incredibly intricate and usually hand-woven. Almost all of them contain beautiful patterns, though some display stories.
Tassels are rare, though short fringes along the northern and southern edges are common. This deliberate mistake is included by rug makers as a way of acknowledging that only God can be perfect.

Yes! And the on purpose flaw could be the last rune that activates the flying ability! An insert into the weave from the Weave! It's just weaving all the way down
