A question about Artificer! If you remove your Bag of Holding infusion, what happens to the bag itself and its contents? Does the former BoH implode, or have a reaction, or does it just rip open with the contents? Additionally, can one modify the Steel Defender? I notice that technically, the Artificer made the defender, hence the question!

That's modeled by your increasing proficiency bonus adding to several of its numbers, and the features you get from Battle Smith giving the defender new capabilities.
