@Vander_NarsFind Steed – is the intent to allow DM to pick a better steed for paladin as he lvls up or stuck with 19hp warhorse at lvl 20 it's really meant to be a mount rather than something that fights, but I'd allow other forms that fit the paladin's need

@Vander_Nars For instance, a paladin shipwrecked on an island could summon an aquatic mount – DM's choice, based on deity's intent

@AdonisChristIf I cast a spell such as Arcane Lock from a staff such as the Staff of the Magi do I need to have and expend spell components? Yes, I believe so.
— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) March 26, 2015
@ngsiverly @AdonisChristNo, DMG page 141: “requires no components, unless the item’s description says otherwise.” well, then there you go!

“@thoughtlessday: is there a DND for Dummies? Want to start a campaign with family. We are all new.”
The Starter Game box would be ideal.

@wyrddrgnApologies if it’s FAQ’d somewhere, but are attack rolls technically ability checks? Context: disadvantage applied via Hex spell No, ability checks and attack rolls are two distinct things

“@JdDurcholz: Any tips for a DM-in-training writing his first campaign?”
Think of 2-3 overarching stories to help steer the campaign.

@brhanson27Even though “unarmed strike” doesn’t have the “light” property, can it be consisdered a light weapon for the purposes of TWF? there was a reason why we didn't do that, but can't recall. Probably ok if players don't abuse it w/2-handed weapons
