@SageAdviceDnD Hey. Beastmaster Ranger question. Hypothetically, If a Kobold Beastmaster was riding a pteranodon, would the pteranodon follow mount rules or beastmaster companion rules for commands and actions?

Would be a mash-up of both, TBH. Being one doesn’t stop you from also being the other. I don’t do mounts by the book so I don’t know all the particulars right off the top of my head for all the interactions. @Dan_Dillon_1 knows a little something about BM Rangers, though. I personally mash them up for ease of use in my games.
Had a kobold Beast Master riding a panther in a game I ran, holy crap was that fun and effective.
Just allow the companion to move on the ranger's turn, and use all other Ranger's Companion rules as normal.

I did the same for a player who wanted a Gnome Ranger with a Giant Frog companion. Giant frog is a strong, and a bit of a sleeper, pick!
