Campaign tip – plan past your villain. If killing the villain solves the campaign, look at creating something where the villain is one of several parties after something or taking advantage of an event.

Example: Rising ocean tides threaten to drown the kingdom. The villain wants to take advantage of the chaos to seize power. The villain complicates a problem that can’t be solved via combat, rather than serves as *the* problem.
