Can a Bard work not by singing or playing an instrument, but rather, warping ambient sounds (Sound Engineer College)?
Can a modern DJ solo set w/FX lighting & followspots & fog be done by a single Bard, perhaps by a specialized magic item? Certainly, on all counts! Many Eberron bards make use of the Thurimbar rod, which essentially amplifies the effects of minor illusion—allowing them to employ ambient effects, sampling, etc.
