Hi, I had a quick question that I couldn’t find the answer to. Can a Warlock with Pact of the Chain use his action to have his Imp familiar ready an attack if someone comes into his range?? Thanks! No, it only allows the familiar to use its reaction to attack.
However, if I were DM'ing it, I'd be fine with the familiar Readying the attack and and using its reaction later to attack when the stated trigger occurs. That's off label, though.

Think you could do it legit (at the cost of your own reaction) by using Ready for the Attack action yourself with the trigger being something entering range of the familiar then on your reaction give the attack to the familiar.
That seem to check out to you? That would work, but feels overly cumbersome.
