RAW can Polymorph turn a human into a tiefling visually? No. Is it a fun idea that burns a 4th level spell (cast by a Transmutation specialist) to essentially copy a 1st level spell effect on another creature? Yup! 😉

Yeeeeah. I was braced for the twitter backlash on that one on your behalf (SYMPATHETICALLY TAKE MY STRENGTH).
But I'm right with you, using polymorph to essentially be an up-cast of alter self or disguise self is just cool, and breaks nothing.

You want to cast polymorph in a *not* OP way? Yes, please, Jesus, do it always. Hehehe, THIS.

I guess I just find it super disheartening that fans are being mocked and painted as stereotypical raging nerds for expressing their opinions in an otherwise harmless way. I don’t think any of us are mocking anyone! Just clarifying the confusion, and why I allowed it. There’s been no major anger I’ve seen, but enough questions that it warranted a response.

Most folks are great about things like this! A small group…not so much. Either way, it was a clarification, and a gentle wink toward that small subgroup. 😉

Meh, there’s always a few things (like knock makes a loud noise) that go on that I just assume is either altered or you just don’t mind it.
Your tendency to blur the distinction between Devils and Demons however is highly offensive! I feel I do a decent job of distinguishing between the two fiendish forces! 😉

There’s 3, poor forgotten yugoloths, which are also fiends.
Demons live in the abyss, devils in the nine hells. It’s often just clumped into “Hell” but they aren’t the same.
I’m also kidding, no rational person actually cares. It’s just an area of high interest of mine. Oh totally! The Blood War is one of my fav old D&D conflicts! It’s also the issue with improvised narrative and growing up calling all devilish things “demonic”, hehe
