is there a specific year (range of) that Dragon Heist is to take place within the chronology of FR?Without spoiling Dragon Heist, let me say that it can be played in any of the four seasons of a year, so the timing is slightly variable.
It takes place after the events of my novel DEATH MASKS, which is set in 1491 DR, The Year Of The Scarlet Witch.

“ANOTHER ring to rule them all?”
1)
“ANOTHER ring to rule them all? How falarking original! Do all of these dwarven mage-smiths possess NO originality at all? Or are they all so in love with tradition that they’ll endanger realms by making a portable…#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 27, 2018
3)
…destroy-all thingummy ANY dolt can steal or find, and traipse around with, using some of its powers without knowing or caring about consequences?”
“Well, kings do that all the time!”#epic fantasy “Yes, but they’re BORN to it, lad. We’re USED to them being reckless dolts, caring naught for the fates of the rest of us. That’s comfortingly USUAL, see?”
“Uh-huh. Well, this ruling ring is different.”#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 27, 2018
5)
“How?”
“Oh? Special colour to its glow? Flavoured, perhaps? Emits tunes that drive you mad, like a court bard?”
“No. This one isn’t portable.”
“How so? Even something stuck in a stone, like that fated sword, can be MADE portable.”#epic fantasy “Lad, you just need a sufficiently irresponsible wizard. Which is darned near all of them, come to think.”
“Well, this ring is magical, but it can’t travel. Not without a LOT of chisel and pickaxe work…#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 27, 2018
7)
…that’ll most likely destroy it.”
“Lad, when it’s magic, there is no ‘can’t’ anything…trust me.”
“Well, this ring is a bathtub ring. And the tub is hollowed out of the bedrock deep in a mountain. And is a tub big enough for…”#epic fantasy …six dwarves to share without touching. And the cavern it’s in has only very narrow entrances. Crack the tub and you crack the magic. So you’d need to hew a huge block of bedrock…”#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 27, 2018

“I get it, lad, I get it. Ever heard of MAGIC?”
“Why, yes. One ring to rule them all…”#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) July 27, 2018
Mike Mearls: I want to get a sense of what people think feels right about two-weapon fighting
Tinkering with two-weapon fighting again. I want to get a sense of what people think feels right. So, do you agree that a character wielding two weapons should deal damage that is about midway between the average for a one-handed wielder and a two-handed wielder?
— Mike Mearls, but Spooky (@mikemearls) October 23, 2018
I don’t understand why someone dealing two weapons, who is a master of two weapons, wouldn’t be able to do the full damage on both weapons. It’s usually lighter weapons that are dual wielded anyway, why not give the full d4 or d6 +proficiency for the second weapon? The big thing is that at low levels, it’s super good compared to the other options, then comes back into line once fighters/rangers/paladins get their second attack.

Somebody was telling me their RP concept for a dagger/sword character literally yesterday. We were also lamenting that daggers are so worthless… Funny thing – if you set the off-hand attack to be a dagger without ability mod, and give one extra dagger attack per normal attack, the damage is almost a perfect match to wielding a two-hander

Storm Kings Thunder: Did the giant lords in the council not realize who Iymrith is by name?
@ChrisPerkinsDnD did the giant lords in the council in #StormKingsThunder not realize who Iymrith is by name? She didn't think to take a fake name lol? Or did I miss her fake name? 🙂
— Mat, but Spooky (@_Matafer) October 15, 2018
The entire time I this adventures last few chapters my players complained and criticized the Giants for not recognizing her horn or her name.
— Frank Foulis (@DarthJerod) October 16, 2018
Yeah, giants don’t know the name of every dragon in Faerûn. Iymrith is big and old, but prior to the events of Storm King’s Thunder, she lived in isolation and kept a relatively low profile. #wotcstaff https://t.co/ElRPPpbjiY

What is a hornapple?
In an old El’s Guide article, “Old Angrath’s Smokehouse”, you mention a “hornapple” orchard. Is that a typo for “thornapple”? If not, what is a hornapple? Not a typo. "Hornapples" are so-named because their scaly gray outer skins are studded with points shaped like miniature ox-horns. They grow plentifully on stunted trees/bushes in the Sword Coast and Moonsea North wilderlands, and the Great Dale. VERY hardy.
— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) September 8, 2018
Are they a type of fruit? Yes, they are edible apples. Consumed by rural folk, pilgrims, adventurers, prospectors, explorers, and other travelers in the wilderlands. Very tart, but cultivated in orchards by some. GREAT with the right cheeses.

Tips for combat with large numbers of npcs? Including my players, there’s about 20 people on the field.
Tips for combat with large numbers of npcs? Including my players, there’s about 20 people on the field (not counting enemies). Any advice for keeping the pace and running an encounter of this scale? 20 people might benefit from some simplification of rules! Either static damage (Longswords always deal 5 + Str, etc) or rolling damage WITH the attack roll. Also, enemies with custom AOE attacks, higher damage per hit (due to less actions), and legendary actions.

Would make the air ship used in the the lost mark books non canon?
so you would make the air ship used in the the lost mark books non canon? (I like your rule bye the way makes the dragonmark of storm more useful)
— Pokelefi (@Pokelefi) August 27, 2018
In #Eberron, the novels are inherently non-canon—and authors can easily overlook details of the setting. A DM can always introduce a unique airship anyone can pilot, but by canon it requires a dragonmark.
