“question for clarification: a pc is trapped inside of a force cage. They are of level to cast plane shift. Force cage says, “If the creature tries to use teleportation or interplanar travel to leave the cage, it must first make a… …Charisma saving throw. On a success, the creature can use that magic to exit the cage.” Does this infer that the shift to a different plane? Or that they may simply exit the force cage?
