Still a little confused by humanoid warforged. 5e humanoids are not living constructs. Can warforged now become lycanthropes? Vampires? Zombies? 5e mechanics for them specify “humanoids”. Also, can they perform blood magic? Can a warforged become a medusa? #dnd All good questions, and something that will be taken into account in the next iteration (using the feedback from the recent UA survey). Personally I have no desire to change the way warforged have interacted with all of these things, but there are some interesting story options.

How important is to continue to consume content while trying to make as much as you can?
@matthewmercer had blast at the Critical Role Pan El at SDCC. I was right behind Beau to ask a question when it was cut off. But thank you so much for the great panel. If you have a chance I would love your thoughts. pic.twitter.com/uJeDDiBmSX

I think it is important to be aware of content for inspiration, or industry trends if you wish to create content in the industry. I’m bad at this these days, however (free time…where are you?!) Distraction/Losing interest is a fear, but I take breaks as needed.

“They swarm like rats, or flies!”
1)
“So many PEOPLE!” the barbarian rumbled, scowling in all directions and waving his to-handed axe meaningfully to keep scurrying street urchins at bay. “They swarm like rats, or flies! All this STINK! Are they all…#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) August 7, 2018
3)
…brain-addled, not to have sense enough to clean up after themselves? Dung where they LIVE! And eat! This is madness!”
“This,” the cleric explained wearily, “is a city. Your first, I presume?”
“And my last.”#epic fantasy“I believe that can be arranged. In fact, those men in uniform approaching us seem to have that very goal on their minds, by the looks on their faces.”
“What do the uniforms mean?”
“That they’re the City Watch. Lawkeepers. …#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) August 7, 2018
4)
…You DO know what that means?”
“Aye,” rumbled the barbarian. “I know YOU think it means I have to obey them. And I KNOW it means those stupid uniforms let me easily tell who to cleave into little pieces. Starting now.”#epic fantasy— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) August 7, 2018
Why is there no Greater Aberrant Mark feat for wayfinder’s guide?

The WGtE only covers the core mechanics. Aberrant dragonmarks were part of the 3.5 ECS, but greater aberrant marks weren’t introduced until Dragonmarked. I’ll be releasing unofficial rules for greater aberrant marks in an upcoming product for the DM’s Guild.

How do you go about balancing the amount of combat vs non combat encounters?
when it comes to module design, how do you go about balancing the amount of combat vs non combat encounters(RP or otherwise)? Do you usually favor one or another, or try to balance and let the DM make adjustments based on the group? I kind of dodge the question – I try to avoid creating situations where only combat or interaction will work, largely because you can never tell what crazy crap the players might pull

That is…now that I think about it, the right answer and the one I think I knew in my heart of hearts. Thank you, good sir. On that note, have you ever struggled to inspire your players to approach encounters more creatively? How did you handle it? Try laying out interesting stuff for them to try, or show an NPC doing something interesting. I’d also think about how I present DCs – err on the side of allowing a thing to work without a check.

What class do you think Dr Strange is?
wizard

Watching Dr Strange, and I’m curious… what #dnd class do you think Stephen Strange is? @ChrisPerkinsDnD @ToddKenreck @Wizards_DnD @mikemearls Wizard. His magic is based on his intellect and his understanding of the multiverse. Warlocks make pacts with another entity to get their magic and a Sorcerer has magic innately because of a bloodline, accident, experiment or divine prophecy.

I’m running Hoard of the Dragon Queen any advice on how to manage 20 NPC’s and dozens of side quests?
Hey Matt! I’m running Hoard for my players for the first time, and they’re almost to the caravan section. Any advice on how to manage 20 possible Npc’s and dozens of side quest opportunities?? Feels overwhelming. 😨If it feels overwhelming, then remove a few! Don’t feel obligated to follow any published modules to a T. You can customize, deleted, and alter it to your heart’s content!

The math of games is tricky business
The math of games is tricky business. For instance, assume in a game you need to roll a 3 or higher on 1d6, and you can reroll 1s. My observed experience is that in such situations nearly 50% of dice rolled yield a 2.

I recently saw someone attempting to buff GWM to work on 3’s and 4’s as well, not realizing that this would lead to lower results overall : D that's why it's a PLAYTEST stream!
