hey, Keith!
I’ve been pondering taking some of the Marks away from humans in my Eberron, and leaving them with just Passage and Finding.
Any advice on what races to give the remaining marks? Have you considered the broader social impact this would have on the Five Nations? One of the reasons humans are the dominant race is because they have the most houses. Switching Making and Sentinel creates a very different racial power dynamic.

To me, having Cannith as a human Mark (and not, for example, giving it to dwarves) is part of establishing humanity as innovators driving the magical economy… and giving Cannith a different role than the typical tinker gnomes or dwarf smiths.

Likewise: I could see giving the Mark of Handling to shifters, but that would in turn make shifters a long-time, concrete part of the economy of the Five Nations in a way they currently aren’t.

Great point. If I go through with this, it’d want to not simply be a reinforcement of the same old tropes.
I honestly kinda *want* humans to be less dominant, though. There’s nothing wrong with reducing the role of humanity. My point was solely that you should consider the broader impact of shifting marks.
