@samhogywhy are spells called “1st-level” and not “1st-order”, to disambiguate from player character level?
it's been used long enough in the game that veterans know it and new players don't seem confused by it, in general

yeah, there was actually a note in old versions of D&D (1980s) about how confusing it can be!

@ceejzz_love the new UA. wrt mind thrust, it calls for a ranged attack, does this use DEX, or spellcasting modifier, i.e. INT? uses psionic mod – Int for the mystic

@GrazelSeeing a discussion and want an official WotC answer. How long does the suprised status last (due to an assassin feature) end of creature's first turn – roll initiative as normal, and once surprised creature first turn has passed it is not surprised
