#dnd tip for new DMs: one thing to remember as you prepare to DM: #dnd has never been as popular as it is right now. Countless people out there want to play but lack a DM. They aren't expecting a perfect experience, and are most likely just thankful to have you even try.

This is so true. I first started DMing a year ago because I really wanted to play again, and quickly had a solid group meeting monthly. I'm not a perfect DM by any stretch of the imagination! But we all have a lot of fun, and we're all getting better at the game together. https://t.co/m2HpL9Anpf

I am only approximately 78% confident in my DM skills, but I love running games for new players, because we all learn together. If I can answer your question, great! If not, let's figure it out. And if you walk away looking forward to your next game, mission accomplished. https://t.co/BsIgSbhhb1

Preach it! This game, and in many ways the hobby, lives and dies on the backs of the DMs who spread it to others. This is a great attitude to bring. We're all in it, players and DMs alike, together. https://t.co/bKsv9jTGxh

Shawn, I tell many people who would like to DM and are apprehensive about doing it. I do not think I am a great DM and relate that my experience is that people are usually grateful to have a DM so they can play the game. Generally, I find players, are forgiving.

I think you are absolutely correct! DMing is a service. People might enjoy doing it, but in the end it is still work, and most players understand that and are appreciative and forgiving. https://t.co/RCjA89PeDL
