#dnd tip for DMs: there is little that is more important than trust between you and your players. That trust is established and maintained through constant and honest communication about campaign goals, preferences, and styles. When it all comes together, a campaign sings.

Sometimes I think I’m getting too much feedback though? Like I just always feel the need to give my players more options even when they don’t really seem to care and even if it takes me a lot of effort to give them that choice. I’m a really passive person so it’s weird when I DM. Interesting. I'm not at your table, but when you say, "even when they don't really seem to care," that sounds like they're communicating, if passively. For example, if I went to the trouble of creating exquisite terrain, and the players barely notice, that is clear communication.
