Does Basic Poison only work for one attack or multiple?

@DropTheDieWas it hard to find a good balance for potion/poison crafting? Also: does Basic Poison only work for ONE attack or multiple? one attack. yeah, balance on it is nutty. Anything that turns gold pieces into attacks/power messes up the game.
