Did I understand correctly that Remove Curse frees a soul from a soul coin? Yep! Casting remove curse frees the soul to go to the realm of the god it served or the outer plane most closely tied to its alignment. LE souls emerge as lemures from the River Styx.

So it doesn’t immediately appear in front of the people who freed it? Trying to work out how the party would interact with a soul they freed. Thanks! Totally a DM call as to how the spirit leaves (in a flash of light, invisibly, manifesting in front of the party) but as soon as the spell is cast the spirit is released.
