Tabletop RPG design has such minimal costs for creating viable prototypes that technique and vision are best expressed through actual design and tested through actual play. Don’t tell me what you want to design or how you want to create it. Do it, play it, and share it.

Agreed. Actually, thinking back, wasn’t detect magic just part of being trained in the Arcana skill, back in 4e? We wanted to avoid it becoming spammy, where every damn thing the party found got hit with detect magic. In testing, it caused a noticeable slow down in play.
