This is a misunderstanding of the whole D&D ecosystem. It’s common to think of things being canonical and therefore “real” in things like Star Wars, MCU or LotR. D&D’s multiverse encompasses every game, ever. There is no canon for it other than what the group decides. Vecna could be a hero battling the great warrior Elminster if that’s what you need. Your game can merge with a game from across the country and it’s cool.
