The way that monsters are created and presented went through several major revisions over the course of 3.5e and 4e’s development. The 4e MM3 has some of the well defined and distinct creatures we’ve seen.
Has there been thoughts into revising fifth edition’s creature math or making monsters more distinct in the future? So many creatures are blobs of hp with no traits to make them unique.

Kind of. The issue is that doing that makes combat slower, which is one of the really big reasons why 4e struggled so mightily. We’re doing some stuff to push the envelope a bit, but a tabletop RPG has a fairly low ceiling for complexity before you start losing players and DMs. Comment
