Is that something you’re allowed to discuss in detail? Sure, but it's something better left to DMs (to decide, for example, if THIS PARTICULAR CASTLE RIGHT HERE has such a device/trap, or not). Makes for better play. Re: cotton candy, it was simply a lore decision made by TSR after an internal idle fun chat.

Those are both interesting to know. Helps put electric instruments not existing yet in context. Ah. Amplification/modulance is a further innovation on top of electric current, so electric guitars and synthesizers are a LONG way off. ;}
