Have you EVER built a character that was purposefully sub optimal, just for the fun of roleplaying? What was it? Did you have fun with the character despite its shortcomings?

It wasn’t necessary suboptimal but it was non-traditional. I made a mountain dwarf abjuration wizard that was and is one of my favorite characters of all time. I miss playing him I'm playing a dwarf transmuter presently and he is anything BUT suboptimal… but I would agree he is very against type.

I think my personal favorite has been my kenku grave domain cleric… he's an undertaker that only speaks phrases you hear at a funeral… unfortunately for him, he's also overly chatty.
