House Rule: Trivial Checks
If you’re proficient with a skill or tool, you automatically succeed on ability checks using that proficiency if the DC of that check is equal to or lower than the relevant ability score.Useful for speeding up games! For example, if you're a rogue with a Dex score of 16 and proficient with thieves' tools, attempts to pick a lock with a DC 16 or lower automatically succeed. Other high-Dex party members can't do this, unless they're also prof. w/thieves' tools. pic.twitter.com/buN084dis4

This house rule is reminiscent of @PelgranePress's Gumshoe and Nights Black Agents RPGs, where (in simple terms) you just succeed at the stuff you're trained in. Great for games featuring competent heroes, or investigation games where missing clues is a drag. pic.twitter.com/OM4dIUZxIc
