Random possibly terrible D&D thought of the day:
How badly would it screw up the game if Legendary creatures treated any roll of a 9- as a 10? It would essentially never fail any rolls (at least no rolls it's remotely competent at).

What if a 1 was still always an automatic miss? It doesn’t increase the failure range by that much, I know.
Also, totally not saying this is a good idea, just sometimes I get mechanical thoughts I need to walk through. Defeats the main purpose the foundational math of 5e is based on, making the d20 roll matter
