How do you get better at running high-level D&D? By running high-level D&D.
There’s advice out there, but it’s key to understand that there are more possibilities as to how it works than at lower levels. So advice that works in one circumstance might not in yours! One of the things that always surprises me is how less powerful high-level characters end up being than the internet would lead me to expect.
You know all that theorycrafting of how unbeatable some tactics are? Often, my players don't know them or don't want to use them.

But when you do have that sort of gamer? Then things begin to change quickly. But you can’t assume every campaign will play that way. One bit of advice I have to you, based on Tier 4 DDAL play, is "Don't give out the Cloak of Invisibility. It is incredibly broken." 🙂
I'll happily give out vorpal swords and staves of power. Just not the Cloak of Invisibility!
