I’ve been playing D&D for almost 20 years. I just finished my second session DMing for the first time ever, inspired by @CriticalRole to do it. How does one keep unruly drunk friends on story? That can be a hard one. Some ideas I’ve used: 1) Ask your friends about perhaps not getting as unruly/drunk out of respect for the work you put in for it, and/or 2) If that’s the game folks want to play, prepare a story that facilitates a sillier table.

I’ve had to ask players who wouldn’t listen to my requests for moderation to stop coming to play, but most were open and apologetic.
