How often during a game have you needed to know a monster’s HIT DICE?

Question for the 5E GMs/DMs out there:
How often during a game have you needed to know/use a monster’s HIT DICE? Not hit points, it’s actual listed Hit Dice. A few spells & char abilities use them, but … how common is it in play that you need a monster’s HD? During a session, almost never for monsters. Hit Dice only matter when you take short rests.

Usually for NPCs or companion/ally creatures taking short rests, which can happen fairly often depending on characters and whether they've made allies.

In planning, fairly often. Sometimes I'll manipulate a creature's hp, the easiest being give it maximum for its HD.
