How to set difficulty classes in a game of D&D:
DC 0: Simple task, no real chance of failure
DC 10: Good chance of success
DC 15: Tough task
DC 20: Really super hard
DC 25: Players did not bring snacks for the DM— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) November 21, 2017
Where does “brought wrong snacks” fall? 35!

NOT bringing snacks, is still better than a player that EATS the DM's snacks!!! (I'm still pretty salty about my Nerd Rope)

That is definitely the kind of thing that makes tarrasques fall from the sky in my campaign. https://t.co/pKV4HgkZjh

DC 30: Player wearing Bears jersey in Wisconsinman I think that applies anywhere, DC 40 if it's a Jay Cutler one

Our DM is a brewer and has yet to share any. What’s the difficulty for that?! Get him to drink a few, and it’s likely to drop your DCs across the board

So if you had a question for me, the entire “DC 25 for not bringing snacks” tweet murdered my notifications. Feel free to hit me up again if I didn’t get to your question.

Rules clarification – layering the toppings made all the nachos soggy. Was my salsa too wet, or was this a design decision? #mearlsnachos I try to keep salsa, sour cream, etc off until after baking, then I add them on top

My nacho game is clearly weak.
Does this mean I just bake the corn chips and cheese? Yes – also any meat, beans, etc. I try to avoid cooking with liquid stuff to avoid having it dry out
— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) November 23, 2017
Yeah so if I cook a meal but no snacks what’s my DC look like? That’s like DC 5 all session
— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) November 23, 2017
So if I brought freshly made cookies to the session, would that grant me a lower DC or advantage? YES – unless the cookies have nuts, then we’d have words

Snickerdoodles Definitely looking at lots of DC 5 checks
