@JeremyECrawford If/when you play w/ miniatures, do you prefer hex or square grids? If squares, how do you deal with diagonal movement?

When I use miniatures in D&D, we play on a square grid and use the rules in "Variant: Playing on a Grid" (PH, 192). #DnD https://t.co/FPS9YyHUUx

We’ve taken to ignoring the grid for movement and using quick measurements (tailor’s tapes are great). Very free flowing and fast. We usually don't use miniatures or a grid at all.

So diagonal movement with a grid. 10ft then 5ft… or everything 5 ft? I think you know what I’m asking. 🙂 Squares are all 5 feet, diagonals included, in the rules that I mentioned (PH, 192).

One popsicle stick for one basic moe (like for 30 feet) works great, too. We did it all the time in Savage Worlds with @StvWinter.

That’s a really good tip. Noted! *side eyes the giant bag of craft popsicle sticks Moe = move, of course. Everyone knows that. 😉
