Is there already in #eberron a group of people that fights to give freedom or rights to elementals? Like someone considering elemental binding close to slavery?#dnd5e The Ashbound will free elementals by force when they have an opportunity. The Power of Purity is a Zil organization seeking to develop more humane methods of binding. However, there’s a case that elemental binding is MORE humane than, say, riding a horse: https://t.co/SrtWcsySiq

That’s what I was looking for!
I was reasoning about this remembering the philosophy behind spirit binding in exalted (binding elementals is disrespectful because you are stealing a natural phenomenon from somewhere, binding demons is “bad guys in chains”-like good).
Thanks 🙂 5E has moved towards Eberron; the 5E Monster Manual says that elementals "have no society or culture, and little sense of being" and that an elemental "has no desire except to course through the element of its own plane"… and the idea is that binding replicates this experience.— Keith Baker (@HellcowKeith) December 24, 2018
… But that's what the BINDERS say; the Ashbound still see it as an attack on nature, and the Power of Purity still believes there's a better way.
