@JeremyECrawford Acknowledging that 5e psionics is far from complete, is there is any consensus, or even leaning one way, as to whether 5e psionics will be magic transparent or not? My group argues about this constantly, so an answer would resolve much tension.

Psionic abilities have been in 5th edition since 2014. Take a look at the monsters—mind flayers and gith, for example—that have psionics in their stat blocks. Or consider Awakened Mind in the warlock.
Psionically themed things can take many forms, some magical and some not. #DnD https://t.co/xJXs1Uy1eY

Not all telepathy is psionics, ya know… That's most definitely true.

Also, how seriously should we take Mike Mearl's happy fun hour work on psionics?
Perhaps that's "decline to comment" territory though.

The Happy Fun Hour is a place to explore ideas and to see what the spitballing phase of game design can be like. That show doesn't determine what we put into our books, though future content might sprout from a seed that first appeared there. #DnD https://t.co/vaQkkVpxDs

You are saying Great Old One warlock is psionic. It is alien magic that drives people mad. One feature in a subclass is not the same as the subclass.
