@ChrisPerkinsDnD Is there something about goblin physiology that makes them less intelligent and well mannered than the other races? If a goblin was raised by elves or humans would they have the capacity to compete intellectually with said races?

Goblin characters can be as smart or as stupid as any human. And bad manners aren’t genetic; they’re taught. #wotcstaff https://t.co/mVYF4D1dDO

It's honestly an interesting discussion. When is it nature and when is it nurture. A goblin can be raised be a normal and good. What about a Beholder? A devil? An elder brain? A chromatic dragon? What kind of lives could these be?

D&D creatures such as demons and devils embody or personify evil, but there can always be exceptions that break the rule. #wotcstaff https://t.co/NrDoA0eh7n

So if there was just a single generation of goblins that did things differently they could overcome the stereotypes that are associated with goblinkind. Interesting. A whole civilization of goblins that are on the same level or even above humans. Thanks for the reply!

If you’re looking for an example of goblin civilization unlike that which is found on most D&D worlds, the Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica should interest you. #wotcstaff https://t.co/cGsPJ4IX7O

Yeah! I'm a long time MTG player but I was wondering about this pertaining to FR. If a drow can have a heart of gold it would make sense a goblin can be really smart. Thanks!

Imagine, if you will, the Izzet League constructing a temperamental magic gateway to Waterdeep. #wotcstaff https://t.co/lXG7yunowV

Maybe Lazav *is* Manshoon. #wotcstaff https://t.co/VpXU7dEBn8
