Made some updates to my Nentir Vale gazeteer. I have one file that is my more detailed notes. This is designed for at the table reference, creating one for each region. Was helpful last Friday during my last session. Will print and keep in a binder, arranged in 2-page spreads. pic.twitter.com/DHj4igQMdF

People seem to like the insights into my Nentir Vale campaign, so here is an overview of how I've adapted the gods of the setting. There are a few basic conceits behind this pantheon. pic.twitter.com/VZn5js9Xle

First, I'm using only four alignment axes for gods to put their alliances into clearer focus and declutter the pantheon. I also tried to create one deity for each domain, with order being a notable exception. Erathis and Asmodeus struggle for the right to rule.

4e pitted the primordials – beings of the elements – against the gods, but I'm replacing them with demons. Druids are keepers of primordial and elemental (aka "natural") magic in the setting. Each god gets one opposed demonic force.

That demon wants either to seize control of the god's domain or destroy the very concept the domain embodies. That's the big, cosmic struggle in the world. I drafted some former gods into demonhood and elevated a few entities to a higher status.

The bolded domains are new ones for the campaign. I worked up darkness last night and have destruction almost done.

I’m not well versed on 4e but did they have a Destruction domain because that sounds juicy.it was kicking around in 3e, think it was somewhere expressed in 4e but can't recall exactly

Any reason for leaving out Knowledge and Death domains?
— Malcolm in Space (@MalcolmInSpace) July 6, 2018
Grave replaces Death domain for me. Vecna devoured the Knowledge domain. https://t.co/mB0UxSUtkn

I'm intrigued by the moon, destruction, beauty and darkness domains. I don't suppose this is a hint of things to come?

I created the Order domain because I needed it for Erathis, so these might end up in UA! https://t.co/uTLYlPbrTu

Interesting, why Graz’zt vs. Sehanine? Seems an odd matchup to me. Why not an air or night themed demon like Pazuzu or Pale Night?
…
OR IS PALE NIGHT DEAD AT SEHANINE’S HANDS, AND GRAZ’ZT WANTS TO AVENGE HER? There have been casualties! See Sehanine as using the moon to illuminate truths that are perhaps difficult to accept, Graz'zt is all about deep deception and amplifying inner turmoil.— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) July 6, 2018
What is Torog trying to do to/with Forge? Moradin wants to craft the earth and its mineral bounty into a wondrous object. Torog wants to turn it into moldy Swiss cheese filled with monsters.

My last adventure focused on a cult of Erathis that was sacrificing poor and vagrant citizens to try to appease Erathis so the savage monsters would stop savaging. Erathis was NOT pleased. Now she’s threatening to take magic from an entire continent, maybe the world! Cool – I love events that have a big effect on the world like that.
