So, my craft project leading up to Campaign 2’s finale (and my personal off-hours project to maintain my sanity) was the creation of terrain for the climactic battle in Cognouza. I had a blast making & painting them, & wanted to show/share for inspiration! First, I assembled multiple parts of the Pegasus Hobbies Gothic Building terrain along with rad 3D printed terrain (and heat-carved foam as the base for larger spires), then sculpted foam clay around them to create the fleshy bits. pic.twitter.com/HJAbQ4GVob

After which, I carved into a @WyrmwoodGaming box for platform pieces & plotted modular terrain bits to add. Then came the priming and base coats of paint, followed by drybrushing lighter colors over details & ridges. pic.twitter.com/D4NpqrXdt7

I then went in and airbrushed the detailed color for the “flesh” bits. A purple base, then red mid-tones, & finally a ruddy-light brown skin light-tone. Lighter highlights on the skin bits helped it POP. After some whiter “tooth” details, some

And there it is. My disgusting project for the weeks leading up to that Critical Role boss encounter. Crafting like this is such a fulfilling hobby, and I hope some of you derive similar joy from building tiny, gross things like this. 😉
