My #acqinc campaign has been instructive in so many ways. I rarely run campaigns from books I worked on, but I'm trying it. I generally run adventures using @DnD_AdvLeague guidelines or playtesting, but not here. My first time really using online tools to their fullest as well.

More importantly, I’m trying to slow down. I generally move along quickly, because getting through a certain amount of the adventure is a priority. With this, I’ve told the players we may level more slowly. That makes side-quests and improvisation easier to manage. Also, it's been great to run something I wrote a couple years ago, going back to it as a DM. Learning lots of design lessons. Learning to be a better DM as I anticipate and plan for the player's interests. The downtime and franchise aspects are so much fun too.

Learning to use @roll20app and @DnDBeyond to their greatest extent has been fun and instructive. Creating content without worrying about publication is surprisingly freeing. And the Acq Inc world created by @TychoBrahe et. al. is my happy place for #dnd. I'm resisting the urge to plan too far ahead, like "what am I going to run once they get to level 7 and finish this story?" Let it happen. The players will find the path they want if I drop enough plot points. There's enough great #dnd content out there I could mine if I want.
