I have a Descent Into Avernus question. My wizard has devoted himself to studying liches (to defeat them, of course). He got his hands on a soul coin to research possible connections with this item and phylacteries. Any thoughts on what he might discover? Your wizard might not only discover a very interesting (and possibly dangerous) soul,but he might also discover how the metaphysics of soul imprisonment works. He could find a way to develop (with the help of an artificer) a device that “sniffs” out soul imprisoning devices. 🙂
