New to D&D? Take it from me – never feel bad about not knowing the rules. I’ve contributed to multiple official 5e sourcebooks, and I regularly forget how really basic stuff like Cure Wounds works. Just look it up or ask your players. 👍

D&D rules are my job, and I don't know them all by heart with 100% certainty. I look things up all the time, even if I'm reasonably sure I know them.
You are absolutely not required to know all the rules off the top of your head. Don't hesitate to use the books as a resource. https://t.co/STQsN2W5Bw

To this day I wan to tell people they have to be barefoot with empty hands to use spider climb, so I hear you.

Hell, if you runt his game long enough you’ll have like 4-5 editions of it in your head plus a MOUNTAIN of house rules (yours and others) and literally nobody knows them all. I’ve never in my life been in a game where the DM didn’t forget a rule and have to make a call. Truth
