My SKT group has come to Noanar’s Hold. Looking at previous editions, the Hunt Lords started out as “lazy wizards” in 2e, evolved into a sinister anti-party with a mix of class levels in 3e, before being reduced to 200 yo wights in 5e. Which version do you prefer? Depends on what Realmsdate your campaign is set. :} BTW, the wight versions are eager to use novice adventurers as a "front" to hide behind, whilst they evaluate possibly dangerous new arrivals. So you COULD use all three at once! Or in succession… ;}

I’ve set my campaign in the 5e era, but I’m thinking that five vanilla wights is a little boring given the hype. I’m contemplating making them stronger wights with some spellcasting ability.
Any thoughts on what precipitated the change from all wizards to a variety of classes? The Hunt Lords took casualties, and decided to recruit replacements of different classes. (I always play undead to the full limits of their intelligence, whatever it may be, so they have plans and goals in their "unlife," too…)
