I'd run it like this – command get it to do exactly what you want, DM can make judgment calls keeping in mind it's an animal

@seekay“If you’re making an attack roll, you’re making an attack.” Is the inverse also true? Eg does MM trigger Hex? The inverse isn't true. Some special attacks, like grappling (PH, 195), don't include an attack roll. @mikemearls

@pukunui81 Lycanthropes and several other monsters are exceptions. For now, read "nonmagical weapons" as "nonmagical weapon attacks."
