Is there a D&D for Dummies?
“@thoughtlessday: is there a DND for Dummies? Want to start a campaign with family. We are all new.”
The Starter Game box would be ideal.

Ability checks and attack rolls are two distinct things
@wyrddrgnApologies if it’s FAQ’d somewhere, but are attack rolls technically ability checks? Context: disadvantage applied via Hex spell No, ability checks and attack rolls are two distinct things

Any tips for a Dungeon Master in-training currently writing his first campaign?
“@JdDurcholz: Any tips for a DM-in-training writing his first campaign?”
Think of 2-3 overarching stories to help steer the campaign.

Unarmed strike light
@brhanson27Even though “unarmed strike” doesn’t have the “light” property, can it be consisdered a light weapon for the purposes of TWF? there was a reason why we didn't do that, but can't recall. Probably ok if players don't abuse it w/2-handed weapons

Katana
@SageAdviceDnD How would work a Katana in D&D 5e? Just like a long sword?
— Raphael F. M. Mariz (@fillipemariz) March 17, 2015
Heroic Raphael,
Based on my studies with past edition tomes Yes Longsword stats could be the best choice to adapt Katana… and Shortsword for Wakizashi.
Have a glorious rising sun.
One cover, one prophet
@CodarusTridonwas there ever a point where variant covers were considered for Princes of the Apocalypse? like one for each of the prophets? 🙂 not really – price point is high enough that getting people to buy all 4 seems unlikely

Sage Advice is on Facebook!
Heroes,
I’m glad to inform you that my library opens today on Facebook.
https://www.facebook.com/sageadvice.eu
There you will find Questions&Answers from our favourites Dungeons&Dragons designers: Jeremy, Mike, Christopher, Rodney and more.
I will add some personal insights, nice pictures, top questions and I’ll try to answer you, but remember: I’m not a D&D designer, I’m just a librarian that collects and study designer answers and the three 5e tomes.
Your humble
Zoltar the Sage
