A specific day is referred to as “the tenth of Ches” or “the score-and-six of Tarsakh” but specific day-names (like our Monday, Tuesday, etc.) have never caught on, into widespread use in the Realms, likely due to so many competing faiths and rulers wanting their own. 2)
That doesn't stop folks from repeatedly trying, though, so in a particular locale on Toril, local names may be in use, and traveling merchants who regularly visit or pass through will know them (so please feel free to introduce names you'd like). I find that I don't use random encounter tables as much, as I like to make the most of time at the session. If there's a possibility of a fight, I usually know what creatures are in it beforehand.
I do, however, LOVE utility tables—quirks, appearances, social city encounters.

I like to prep encounters ahead of time and weave "random" encounters together, so they feel purposeful and not just like adventuring busywork.
But for random effects and such, I love letting people roll and improv.

I like them for things that should be random, such as visitors in a shop. PCs might visit several times, so this helps me greatly to keep things interesting. Having a set list won’t be necessarily better, and random keeps it fresh.
