As someone who only just started reading 4th ed books this year, the quality of its game design is INSPIRING. Nentir Vale is evocative and a great fit for 5e, too (though not without its flaws). #dnd.Tieflings and dragonborn in particular fit perfectly into the Vale. No surprise, given that they were essentially reimagined for that edition/setting, but still! I've always felt tiefs and dborn were underserved in the Realms, just they're cuz they're in the PHB. Not so here!

I still see dragonborn through the lens of DL draconians and tieflings through Planescape. Putting them back into worlds whole cloth is revisionist, so if they can do that, I hope they can fix other issues moving forward. This is a great point.

Is this correct???https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/gast The word is Germanic in origin, its original form meaning/relating to ghosts.

Then "ghast" in Middle English meant "terrify." In modern English we have "aghast" and "ghastly" all hanging around similar circles.

So, Ghast is “Terrifying Ghoul”, in a sense Yep! Ghoul, but scarier! Their paralysis also affects elves (which ghoul version doesn't). So that's suuuuper scary. 😛💀

With the Echo Knights echos, do they get the benefits of Sentinel and Polearm master?Sentinel WOULD function, as you are still the source of the opp attack. Polearm Master would not, as that feature of the Echo specifies moving AWAY from you.

you’ve mentioned before only marked heirs can add the d’ before their last names yet there’s at least 1 example in the new book that contradicts that. I assumed it’s new thing cause 3.5 didn’t call it out but even Rising isn’t adhering to that. Can you clarify? It's largely a question of the prefix having meaning. The house names are well known. If all the d' means is "part of a house," the name Cannith DOES that; it doesn't need the d'. If the d' means "marked", then you can have a Cannith and a d'Cannith and it TELLS you something.

This excerpt from the new Boromar section is what threw me, is this basically a typo? “head of the Boromar Clan, Saidan Boromar, is married to an unmarked heir of House Jorasco, Mala Boromar d’Jorasco”
Or is she bucking the norm on purpose for a specific reason? Yes, I’d think it’s a typo—but likely a common mistake people DO make in the setting itself.
