how exactly, or in a way, does one craft magic into an item in the realms? Like a bag of holding for example. I can DM something if needed, but maybe your the better one to ask. Is there a way, like rare materials or magic water xD or something How exactly one does it has of necessity changed with game editions, but VOLO'S GUIDE TO ALL THINGS MAGICAL has a method specifically described (and the necessary "toolbox" spells).#Realmslore

Is Mystra purely “Mystra”, or does the mortal Midnight still exist within her/is her?
Lord Bertilak d’Hautdessert @GreneKnyght
1) Is Scyllua Darkhope still dead, or is she back?
2) Is Mystra purely “Mystra”, or does the mortal Midnight still exist within her/is her?
3) Is Tantras still a major center of Tormite faith?— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) June 26, 2020
1)
1. Scyllua Darkhope is dead and gone. She fell in 1374 DR and there has been no hint of her since (and both Zhentarim and some of Mystra’s Chosen have looked). 2)
2. The Mystra of now (1490s DR) retains some of the memories of all of her earlier selves, and the relatively young and inexperienced Midnight is “in there,” but wholly subsumed. Mystra could generate an avatar or…#Realmslore— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) June 26, 2020
4)
3. The faith of Torm remains strong in Tantras, with a large and wealthy temple that sponsors missions all over Faerûn, many senior priests, and a substantial number of citizens who hold Torm dear before most other deities.#Realmslore— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) June 26, 2020

Is this how it works for all gods or simply Mystra/Mystryl?
Like if Fiona LuckyGirl through a strange series of misadventures finds herself the new owner of Gond’s mantle of godhood. Is Fiona now a god in her own right or is she just memories in a divine tidal wave called Gond? It depends entirely on the deity: how many mortals they've subsumed, and which particular mortal. Midnight was young and had studied Mystra's teachings under Sunlar, whereas a mortal with a longer, richer "life of their own" apart from the deity would be "stronger."#Realmslore— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) June 26, 2020
So … the godly power actually includes a dose of said gods’ essence(s) & it’s up to the new god’s willpower to be whomever they were as opposed to becoming the continuation of the prev deity?
Neat. Must cause interesting … personality quirks … in case like Lliira/Waukeen, huh? Oh, yes. There are deities whose minds are at war with themselves (well, yes, Cyric, but I meant "not barking mad" deities), or that have been, at times.#Realmslore— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) June 26, 2020
Are there generic terms for “mixed drinks” in common usage?
Yes. “Brightwaters” and “goblets of plenty” and “Throatsparkles” are all collective terms for mixed drinks, from place to place and with differing formality (“goblets of plenty” is for menus, haughty eateries, and courtiers).#Realmslore

Who are the current members of the Circle of Eight? And is Mordenkainen still the leader of the group?
Here you go: https://t.co/H8XI8Elkxh No official updates have been made to the Circle of Eight since 1998. #wotcstaff

Did you make any unofficial changes for DCA? The Wafflecrew crossed paths with Mordenkainen, but not the Circle of Eight. #wotcstaff

Wrecktangle Weapon (greatsword), uncommon
Wrecktangle
Weapon (greatsword), uncommonWhile wielding this greatsword, your AC increases by 2 and you are considered to be wearing a shield. You must be proficient with both greatswords and shields. https://t.co/yjgJhjhT3u
— James ☂️ Haeck (@jamesjhaeck) June 24, 2020
It may have an extra property, which increases its rarity.
▶️Steel (rare): You have a +1 bonus to your AC, and attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
▶️Mithral (rare): You can also wield this weapon even if you aren’t proficient with greatswords or shields. ▶️Adamantine (rare): You have a +1 bonus to your AC, and attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. While wielding it, any critical hit against you becomes a normal hit. Additionally, whenever this adamantine weapon hits an object, the hit is a critical hit.— James ☂️ Haeck (@jamesjhaeck) June 24, 2020
▶️Dragonbone (very rare): You have a +2 bonus to your AC, and attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Additionally, when you take acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder damage, you can become immune to that damage type until the start of your next turn as a reaction
— James ☂️ Haeck (@jamesjhaeck) June 24, 2020
No. Unless your class or another element of your character says you're proficient with shields, you are not proficient with shields. i.e., the Fighter class's proficiencies: pic.twitter.com/tExTdTXfzB
— James ☂️ Haeck (@jamesjhaeck) June 25, 2020
What if the AC bonus was an on-hit reaction activation, providing +2 AC against the triggering hit. A permanent +2 AC almost feels a little OP. Or, you can forgo your Attack action to bring the Wrecktangle up as a shield, providing +2 AC until the start of your next turn. It's an uncommon magic item, not a normal weapon. Works totally fine.

Magical weapons such as this have been enchanted to counteract such awkwardness

A sketch of my take on Elminster
NICE! But what is this mania for braiding hair? The Old Mage doesn't hold with it.
Yes, I know he's been pictured with braids in the past. He gruffly dismisses such depictions as, "Hmph. Another illo of my stunt double." ;}#Realmslore— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) April 6, 2020
The feathers bear their own "feather token" enchantments (still secret, because plans changed and that tale was never published). And the staff is a unique magical staff. Stats for them all (3e) languish somewhere. Where? Not sure, since Wizards moved to the flash cube building.

The more I look at your sketch, BTW, the more I love it. Superb. Thank you sir, I’m honored 🙂

Magic items have a reuse time of once a week, but Faerun uses a 10-day division. How does this effect these magic items, or does it?
I have a question regarding magic items and reuse. My particular question pertains to 3.xE but it may be more general.
Several listed magic items have a reuse time of once a week, but Faerun uses a 10-day division. How does this effect these magic items, or does it? Folk in Faerûn use tendays, and don't know what a "week" means. But the game designers writing game rulebooks are writing them for us real-world readers, who do. So by a week they DO mean 7 days (7 full days, or 168 hours) between uses. (Try early = nothing happens.)#Realmslore— Ed Greenwood (@TheEdVerse) May 19, 2020

I have a plot where an (unwilling) agent of the Dragon cults are being shaken down by the players for information. Im trying to find a magical ‘leash’ for the cults to yank back to punish the agent for being found out, but the only thing I can think of, having this blast of chaos energies surge from a tattoo on his head that turns him into a Dolgaunt variant doesnt quite fit in with the lore of the dolgaunt that I've been able to find. Would it make sense for a powerful iteration of The cults below to have this kind of failsafe?
— BeskarBear (@Bi_N3rd) September 16, 2020
Which power does this cultist serve? Orlassk might petrify a compromised minion. Kyrzin could have an ooze that consumes them from within. Dyrrn could turn them into something like a dolgaunt, sure. Have you read Exploring Eberron?
— Keith Baker (@HellcowKeith) September 17, 2020
he’s a artificer being indirectly controlled by the Transcedent Flesh. he’s selling arms and armor to the Warforged of the Cogs who are being threatened and Harassed by Anti-WF factions (also supported by the cult) in order to remove the warforged as obstacles in a larger plot. essentially when the players press this guy for information the Powers that be in the cult are going to trigger something so he attacks the players as this cult specific thing. Like in the old Crime movies when the snitch gets killed just as the detective starts to press him.
— BeskarBear (@Bi_N3rd) September 17, 2020
Yeah, Transcendant Flesh could certainly trigger a transformation. You could use the statistics of a dolgaunt even if he's not an actual dolgaunt, just something similar.
