Wasn’t Kyuss a cleric before they were entombed in worminess? Yup. He’s a high priest emperor type who achieved demigod status, prophesied to achieve full god good during “the Age of Worms” (which was a fantastic campaign in Dungeon).

We have problems with the use of some objects and the rule of concentration. The use of an object like the winged boots or the wings of flying (that have effects similar to the fly spell that requires concentration) requires concentration? That is true for other objects that have effects very close to spells that requires concentration? Thanks for your help.

Hello! An effect in D&D requires concentration only if it says it does!

If the magic item allows you to cast a spell that requires concentration, you must concentrate on it unless the item says otherwise (as some potions do). Check "Spells" on DMG pg 141 for info. #WotCStaff

Thanks. I had read it, but we had problems understanding its relación with concentration. For example, potion of resistance. The effect is similar to spell protection from energy, and its require concentration. Also the item’s description don’t talk about cast a spell. In that case the potion has nothing to do with the spell, they just coincidentally have similar effects. No concentration required!

Then you can look at the potion of haste, which says it gives you the haste spell, but doesn't require you to concentrate. 🙂

Yes we saw it (potion of haste). Also we read this sage advise from 2016. It was part of our trouble. So "duplicates a spell" means it casts or lets you cast that exact spell, not just that it creates the same effect as an existing spell.
