If I sit and try to think up a great scene, nothing happens. If I sit down and start to write, one always comes along.

“Disclaimer: For safe utilization of elemental magic, remember the following guidelines. You can drink water but not fire. You can breathe air but not earth. You can walk on earth but not on water (unless you have the right pair of boots or spell). You can do a lot of things with fire, but almost all of them are bad ideas.”
Where to start?
“@rancedressinghey Chris. Friends and I have never played DnD and wanna try our own adventure. Any tips on where to start? : D&D: Any tips on where to start?”

How is encounter difficulty calculated in Mass Combat?
@jkat718How is encounter difficulty calculated in Mass Combat? Is XP awarded identically to a regular encounter with the same creatures? maybe xp that's 25% needed to level (very rough estimate)
— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) March 4, 2015
@jkat718I’d count objectives as story rewards, and award 1/2 XP for creatures. Maybe calc difficulty as if 1 stand = 1 creature of type? that's a good starting point

@jkat718Thank you, Mr. Mearls. 🙂 How often does Unearthed Arcana update? Will it have surveys, like there are for the main rule set? surveys – might be a little slow, but we want to get it right

Can a rider on his warhorse uses its hooves to attack instead of his own Attack action?
@TaviczCan a rider on his warhorse uses its hooves to attack instead of his own Attack action? I believe so, if the horse us trained for combat

What is the opposing skill check for intimidation?
@DrThePunisherWhat is the opposing skill check for intimidation? Say I didn’t want to get intimidated. Couldn’t find a great answer online. I'd make it charisma insight or diplomacy

Do you have a recommendation on handling “monster knowledge checks” in 5e?
@scotthertzbergdo you have a recommendation on handling “monster knowledge checks” in 5e? Wondering if DC 10+CR or something would work. 10+CR is reasonable – with the caveat that I'd allow it only for creatures that could reasonably be learned about
— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) March 2, 2015
@scotthertzberg In my games, I don't allow checks for weird creatures that a PC couldn't have possibly heard about.
— Mike Mearls (@mikemearls) March 2, 2015
@scotthertzbergmakes sense – thinking about how PCs might know about a skeletons vulnerability to bludgeoning or something Yeah – i like to use it for stuff you might hear about in a tavern or from veteran adventurers

Tricky solo
@GtotheWaveAlso, the isolated dragon died in 1 round to the dwarf army. Poor Guy. I think we need more testing. yeah, solos will be tricky to balance
